F1 2025 calendar confirmed with major change for Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari debut
The 2025 Formula 1 season will be the last under the current set of car regulations, with new design and engine rules coming into force and Audi entering for the first time in 2026

The 2025 Formula 1 race calendar will see the Australian Grand Prix return to its traditional slot as the season curtain-raiser.
Since the Covid pandemic, the Bahrain Grand Prix has taken over as the first race of the season. But, this year, both that race and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix that followed it took place on the Saturday to accommodate for Ramadan.
In 2025, both those races will be held later and Albert Park regains its previous slot as the venue for the opening race. Melbourne has a contract to continue as Australian Grand Prix host until 2035 and included in that deal is an agreement that it will be the first race of the year in a minimum of five seasons.
Its return to that slot next year means Albert Park will be the venue of Lewis Hamilton’s first race as a Ferrari driver. The seven-time F1 champion has agreed to join the Italians at the end of this season, bringing to an end an 11-year spell with Mercedes.
An F1 press release read: “The calendar features 24 races and will commence in Australia on March 16 and conclude in Abu Dhabi on December 7. Ramadan will be throughout March in 2025, and therefore the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will be held in April.
“The changes made to the calendar in 2024 to create a better geographical flow of races have been carried over to 2025, with Japan in April following Australia and China, followed predominantly by the European races over the summer and the Americas during the Autumn, before Qatar and Abu Dhabi finish the season back-to-back.”
The 24-race calendar sees no new venues added to the schedule for 2025. After Australia, F1 heads to China and then Japan before those Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races. The European season begins at Imola in mid-May, a week before the traditional Monaco Grand Prix on the final weekend of that month.

The 2025 British Grand Prix is scheduled for July 6, with races in Belgium and Hungary after that and before the summer break. Baku will again host its race in September to round off the European season, while a Las Vegas-Qatar-Abu Dhabi triple header rounds off the campaign.
