Man charged in September shooting that left 14-year-old dead, 4 others injured
Chesapeake police have arrested a man in connection to a September shooting that left a 14-year-old boy dead and injured two other boys, along with two men.

Police responded to the 1300 block of Drayton Road, roughly 250 yards behind Thurgood Marshall Elementary, following a report of gunshots at 5 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2023. Officers found five victims, all of whom were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police announced the following day that the 14-year-old victim had died as a result of his injuries.

Keyshawn Jahkari Marcel Shannon, 21, was charged with eight felonies including second-degree murder, discharging a firearm in a public place resulting in injury, discharging a firearm into an occupied building, and reckless handling of a firearm causing serious injury.
Shannon is being held without bond.
