Three pay period months are based on calendar year payroll and not fiscal year.
Depending on when the first payroll is first processed in January, the months that can have three pay periods are March, August, May and November. If the first payroll of the year is processed the first week of January, the three pay period months will be March and August. If the first payroll of the year is processed the second week of January, the three pay period months will be May and November.
