Taiwan calendar lists 115 days off in 2025
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Workers in Taiwan will be able to enjoy six extended holidays, including a 9-day Lunar New Year break and five long weekends of three days or more in 2025, the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA) announced on Thursday (June 27).
The 2025 calendar shows that residents of Taiwan will get a four-day break for Children’s Day and the Tomb Sweeping Festival. The DGPA said the Cabinet approved a calendar that provides 115 days off next year.
There are three-day vacations for 228 Peace Memorial Day, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day. The days people have to “make up” by going to work or class before or after having a long holiday weekend is only one, Feb. 8.
New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) is the only single-day holiday.
Extended public holidays for 2025:
Lunar New Year holiday (9 days): Jan. 25 – Feb. 2
228 Peace Memorial Day (3 days): Feb. 28 – March. 2
Children’s Day and Tomb Sweeping Festival (4 days): Apr. 3 – Apr. 6
Dragon Boat Festival (3 days): May 30 – June 1
Mid-Autumn Festival (3 days): Oct. 4 – Oct. 6
National Day (3 days): Oct. 10 – Oct. 12
