Anne’s Visual Art Studio gallery will be hosting “Got Game?: A Mixed Media Interactive Group Exhibition,” curated by Helene Ruiz. The exhibition will be on display Feb. 2 – April 12, 2024 with formal opening reception First Friday, March 1 from 6- 9 p.m. Doors open 4 p.m. This event will be filmed by David James on the Opening Night (sneak preview of artwork will be held First Friday, Feb. 2, 2024). Many artists will be available both nights for interviews and photography. This event is free and open to the public.
The Studley Ruritan Club’s famous “Super Bowl Chili” will be available for pick up at the Studley Store/Post Office (on the corner of Studley Rd. and Williamsville Rd) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 10. Order early before it sells out, and stock up your freezer for the cold winter ahead. The price is $10 per quart and proceeds go to benefit the community. The WEB of Hope meets from 10 a. m. to noon on the second Monday of each month at the Black Creek Baptist Church at 6289 McClellan Road in Mechanicsville. It is one of several groups in the Richmond area that crochets, knits, sews, and quilts gifts for the American Red Cross to distributed to those in need. Hanover Community Services Board offers a family support group on the second Wednesday of every month from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bell Creek location, 8475 Bell Creek Road in Mechanicsville. The Hanover-Ashland TRIAD meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the new Atlee Library, 9212 Rutlandshire Drive, Mechanicsville. The Community Salt Fish Breakfast is held at Enon UMC, 6156 Studley Road in Mechanicsille on the first Saturday of October-March, from 8-10 a.m. The Buffet Menu includes salt fish, scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, hash browns, corn cakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, apples, waffles, beverages and fellowship.
