Pirelli Calendar 2024: Naomi Campbell makes her FIFTH appearance as she poses alongside Idris Elba and Angela Bassett for Timelessness themed shoot in London and Ghana
The eagerly-anticipated Pirelli Calendar has been unveiled, with Naomi Campbell, Idris Elba, Angela Bassett and Amanda Gorman at the helm.
The shoot, captured by self-taught visual artist Prince Gyasi, took place in both London and Ghana, which is also the hometown of the photographer, is focused on the theme of the calendar focuses on ‘timelessness’.
Naomi, 53, who has just collaborated with budget clothing giant PrettyLittleThing, looked incredible in a shot focused on her endless legs while she posed in a studio for a breathtaking image for the company’s 50th calendar.
The appearance is her fifth appearance on the iconic calendar, having appeared in both 1987, 1995, 2005 and 2018, with a host of other stars. She caused waves in her 1987 appearance as she was just 16 and went topless in the shoot.
Other talent featured in the 2024 Pirelli Calendar includes the likes King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the calendar for the year which will be the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Ashanti Kingdom with the reign of King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The image used in the calendar will reflect the celebration of this anniversary.
Speaking about the theme, Prince Gyasi said: ‘I named it ‘Timeless’ because most of these people defy time. They’ve been able to touch certain heights and open doors for people like me to be able to come in.’
He went on to say that he wanted “Timeless” to be “empowering” for his subjects, and for other African people: ‘We’ve been given the platform to make sure our voices are heard….
‘We are using the opportunity to redirect what people have heard over the years – their interpretations of our culture, traditions, what we believe in, who we are as a people. (I’m) trying to change the narrative’.
Naomi looked astonishing in the shoot, where she sported a plunging brown dress with a perilously high-rise hem with a chic train.
In Naomi’s first appearance in 1987, Terence Donovan caused stirs when he featured a 16-year-old Naomi at the start of her career posing topless.
She went on to appear in the 1995 calendar, shot by Richard Avedon, alongside fellow supermodel Christie Turlington.
Naomi made a comeback in 2005 when Patrick Demarchelier stood behind the camera in “O espirito do Brasil” themed shoot alongside Adriana Lima on beaches in Ipanema and Copacabana, before her later comeback in 2018.

The calendar was first released in 1964 and caused a stir when it featured full nudity for the first time nine years later. After 10 years out of print due to financial constraints, Pirelli returned with a bang in 1984 – sexier than every before.
The Italian tyre company first signaled it was changing direction with its 2017 calendars, announcing it was ‘ripping up the rule book’ and giving the hotly-anticipated calendar a new feminist overhaul.
The spread featured Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Charlotte Rampling, and Helen Mirren (then aged 50, 55, 70 and 71 respectively) and was hailed a triumph for its representation of older women.
The 2024 calendar marks the first ever black photographer to be selected for commission.
They were shot by photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Nick Knight and Annie Leibovitz. Naomi previously said the Milan-based brand has always been ‘very conscious about what’s going on in the world’.
The 2024 Pirelli calendar will be released later this year
