All New 2023 Elmwood Village Art Fest
After the Elmwood Village Festival of the Arts (EAFA) announced that it would not be returning in 2023, the Elmwood Village Association decided to step up to the plate and establish its own version of the art festival, as a new entity.
Unlike the more consolidated EAFA event, artists will set up on sidewalks along Elmwood Avenue from Forest Avenue to West Ferry. The entertainment stage (local musicians, DJs, dancers, and poets) and beer zone (by The Beer Keep) will be located on Bidwell Parkway, along with a row of tents featuring several Western New York non-profit and cultural organizations. An indoor/outdoor KidsZone will be set up at Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church.
“We are thrilled that the EVA will present this event to the community,” said James Cichocki, Executive Director. “It is a great way to support local artists as well as the small businesses in the Elmwood Village, not to mention the local performers: musicians, dancers, and poets.”
“The mission of the EVA has always been to promote the local arts community and add vibrancy to the Elmwood Village,” said Therese Deutschlander, President of the EVA’s Board of Directors and longtime small business owner of Thin Ice Gift Shop, in the Elmwood Village. “We are so excited to bring this new festival to WNY so folks from all over can come out and support the great local artists and businesses in the Elmwood Village and enjoy all the festivities at Bidwell Parkway.”
While this inaugural art festival aims to reinvision the iconic EAFA event, it will be a paired-down version, as it gets adjusted to a new format, with new operators at the helm.
