What Is the Pro-Life Movement’s Reaction to the Rise in Infant Mortality in Texas?

Come hang Thursday: We’re planning a big debate night. Here’s the deal:

Shortly before the debate’s 9 p.m. EDT start time, I’ll be going live with Mona Charen and Andrew Egger to set the table. You can then watch the debate on the livestream with a giant live group chat, so you can all have some togetherness.

And when the debate goes to commercial breaks, I’ll be back on with Mona and Andrew to give some real-time thoughts.

All of that stuff—the pre-debate windup, the watch party, the live chat—is for Bulwark+ members. If you’re not riding with us yet, this is the day to join. Trust me: There won’t be a better way to white-knuckle this thing than by being with friends.

Then, after the debate, we’ll have a show with me and some other of our friends. (It’s a surprise!) And this post-debate show will be open for everyone at Youtube.com/@bulwarkmedia.

It all sounds complicated because it is. This is an experiment for us and it involves a big leveling-up of our tech capabilities. If it works and you guys get value from it, we’ll do it again.

More details tomorrow, but in the meantime: Mark it on your calendar for Thursday night.

In one of Sarah’s recent Focus Group pods, a Republican voter lamented how we’re spending too much money in other countries when we should be taking care of folks right here.

This view would be more cogent if Republicans didn’t also oppose pretty much all domestic social spending, too.

They’re against student debt relief. They’re against welfare benefits. They’re against the child tax credit. They’re even against expanded help for mothers and children.

So tell me: How upset do you think the “pro-life” Republicans will be at the jump in infant-mortality rates in Texas?
