GOP Women: San Diego mayoral candidate Larry Turner will speak at the 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday, June 21 Rancho Bernardo Republican Women Federated luncheon meeting. Chamber Awards: The Poway Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Star Awards and Board Installation event at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 21 at The Heights Golf Club, 16066 Bernardo Heights Parkway in Rancho Bernardo. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the brightest stars in the Chamber/business community. Cost is $95 for Chamber members, $115 for non-members. Register at Poway.com.

Saturday, June 22

Help Animals: Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church will hold a drive-thru pet supplies donation drop off from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22 in its upper parking lot, 17010 Pomerado Road. Needed for dogs, cats and other animals are canned and bagged food, bedding, new leashes and collars, pet toys, treats, small carry cases, clean towels, training pads, kitty litter and paper towels. Items will go to the San Diego Humane Society and the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Checks can be written to either organization.

Adult Craft: A resin jewelry class will be offered to adults at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Poway Library, 13137 Poway Road. Sign-up is required. For details, call 858-513-2900.

Interfaith Panel: The Poway Interfaith Team is offering “Living From Our Essential Goodness” from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23 in the Community Church of Poway, 13501 Community Road. Leaders of five faith traditions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, New Thought and Sikh) will discuss spiritual truths common to all traditions. Refreshments will be served.
