The Flaming Lips to headline Bellevue’s Outlandia Music Festival in August
The Flaming Lips and The Head & The Heart will headline this year’s Outlandia Music Festival, set to take place at Bellevue’s Falconwood Park in August.
The two-day festival is returning for its third year and will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, and Saturday, Aug. 10. Friday’s headliner is The Flaming Lips, a Grammy-winning alt-rock band from Oklahoma. Saturday’s main performer is The Head & The Heart, a multiplatinum indie folk band from Seattle.
Other bands in the lineup, most of which fall into the genres of indie rock or pop, include The Revivalists, Dinosaur Jr., Flipturn, Buffalo Tom, Vacations, Twinsmith, Real Estate, The Eye, Men I Trust, and Omaha’s own The Faint. Singer-songwriter Kelsey Waldon will perform, as will the Denver-based quartet Devotchka.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at outlandiafestival.com. Weekend passes will cost $179, and one-day passes will cost $89. Parking is included in the ticket prices. VIP tickets, which include access to a private bar, bathroom and viewing area, will run $269 per day or $469 for the weekend.

In addition to normal VIP tickets, the festival also will offer an “ULTRA VIP” experience for the first time, which includes exclusive merch, complimentary food and drink, a camping pass for the weekend and “other surprises,” according to a press release. Those tickets will cost $369 for one day and $669 for the weekend.
Organizers also will have tent, car and RV camping spots available for an additional price (though a camping spot is provided with the ULTRA VIP ticket). Camping is available only for festival ticketholders.
Outlandia is slated to be the only large-scale music festival in the Omaha area for 2024, as the popular Maha Festival was cancelled citing cost concerns.
