SailGP releases thrilling 2024/2025 season calendar
The roar of the ocean, the thrill of the race, SailGP has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024/2025 season. Marking new territories in Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, and Auckland, the league returns to fan favorites like Great Britain and New York. This year-long extravaganza kicks off in November, and it’s set to be the most extensive yet, spreading the excitement across five continents with 14 pulsating events.
“SailGP’s 2024/2025 calendar is another significant milestone in our continued expansion across the globe,” declared Andrew Thompson, SailGP’s Managing Director. Picture eleven teams at the start line, racing through new and strategic territories, while also reigniting the passion in our beloved venues. This season isn’t just growth, it’s a statement.
Our journey begins in the Middle Eastern waters of Dubai with the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix (November 23-24, 2024), and ends with the grand finale in Abu Dhabi (November 29-30, 2025). In between, SailGP will make waves down under, hitting Auckland’s shores on January 18-19, 2025, followed by Sydney on February 8-9, 2025. Auckland, the City of Sails, finally gets its time in the spotlight, welcoming fans with open arms and thrilling spectacles.
Brazil makes its grand entrance next, with the home debut of the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team on May 3-4, 2025. The carnival continues in the Big Apple with the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix (June 7-8, 2025). Imagine the Statue of Liberty witnessing the sheer power and elegance of these boats slicing through the Hudson.
Europe’s waters will see their share of action, starting with Great Britain (July 19-20, 2025), followed by the charming Taranto (September 6-7, 2025) and the historic Cádiz (October 4-5, 2024). Germany and Switzerland join the fray, hosting SailGP for the first time ever on August 16-17, 2025, and September 20-21, 2025, respectively. Picture the Alps as a backdrop, the Swiss fans cheering on their team, a new chapter in SailGP history.
As the season rounds out, the spectacle returns to the Middle East on November 7-8, 2025, before the ultimate showdown in Abu Dhabi. Teams will battle for national pride, personal glory, and the sport’s largest cash prize. This isn’t just a race; it’s a saga of speed, strategy, and unparalleled excitement.
